Children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder suffer from many accompanied disorders such as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, difficulties in social interaction, difficulties in understanding and interpreting others' feelings, also they have difficulties in the ability to adapt socially and occupationally...etc. In recent years, CBT has emerged as a promising approach to overcome many disorders, whether in normal people or those who suffer from neurodevelopmental disorders, in the forefront of them individuals with autism spectrum disorder; Therefore, the current study focused on conducting a survey of studies that employed cognitive-behavioral therapy in the treatment of autism and its associated disorders. A survey of studies was conducted in the period from 2010-2022 using a specific set of keywords, which led to the collection of (137) studies. Subjecting these studies to careful examination according to a set of criteria, led to their reduction to (11) studies after that these studies were subjected to a systematic qualitative analysis, in addition to extracting their statistical indicators. The study approved the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in reducing symptoms of anxiety and its associated secondary symptoms, in reducing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, and in developing social skills and emotional aspects, also it emphasized the effective role played by cognitive behavioral therapy in general in the field of autism spectrum disorder.
